Science, in the ideal I embrace, treats questions as open, never permanently closed, no answer infallible, beyond review. Religion is the opposite: at least it is in kleptocracy: unfortunately the only social condition known to literate man. Religion treats profound problems with the human-flattering hubris of totalitarian police investigations:
